There’s no doubt that these are not the pitiful Browns of many years past, but a loss still stings, especially to the Steelers. A porous defense and a lack of offense in the second half doomed the Browns on Sunday, adding to yet another loss in Pittsburgh. Even with the Browns at 5-4, I still have no clue what to make of them. Does anyone else still get that feeling going into games that you have absolutely no idea what kind of team will show up? And with the defense the way it is, when are we ever going to get the critical stops we need? I’ve never seen Ben Roethlisberger’s lumbering build score so many first downs by running for them himself. All in all, games like these are frustrating, knowing the comeback is going to happen even when you go into halftime with a 21-9 lead.
On a positive note, Joshua Cribbs is making NFL special teams look silly. Looks like there will be some Pro Bowl nods for the Browns this year – finally. Additionally, to not be the laughingstock of the league feels…new.
Derek Anderson: 16-35, 123 yards, 3 TD (Aloha!)

Though I am a Steeler fan, I attend college at Kent State University and have no choice but to notice the Browns’ success. Though they have impresed to date, I agree that there is still uncertainty among Browns fans on whether they are “for real” or not. By no means does Sunday’s loss to the Steelers take them from the ranks of the playoff-bound in the AFC. When looking at the rest of Cleveland’s schedule, it is hard to believe they will finish any worse than 9-7. This year, that very well may be enough considering the weakness of the AFC West. Only one team from that division will make it, as well as in the top heavy AFC East.
